What’s the Easiest Juicer To Clean?

easiest juicer to cleanHere is what you will learn in this article:

  • The easiest masticating juicer to clean (Tribest Green Star Elite GSE-5000)
  • The easiest centrifugal juicer to clean (Breville BJE200XL)
  • Why centrifugal juicers aren’t as easy to clean as masticating juicers
  • Why these are all great juicers in every aspect, not just in ease of maintenance.

When we pick up a juicer, we intend to be using it most days. Of course, this will increase and decrease throughout the year, but you will be hoping to use it regularly.

If this is the case, you definitely do not want to get stuck wasting long minutes each day trying to get all the gunk out of your juicer. Aint nobody got time for that. The effort involved will turn you off juicing, your juicer and in the end, improving your health. NO!

I know that I learned this the hard way, as my first juicer was an absolute pain in the butt to clean.

Finding the easiest juicer to clean actually isn’t as easy as you may think, as there’s very little online pitting juicers up against each other in terms of ease of cleaning.

I personally have yet to find a juicer that is super easy and chill to clean. Some are without a doubt a tad easier, but in the end you will always be required to put in a bit of elbow grease. The goal here is to tell you which ones are the best to clean.

Here are our easiest to clean juicers (masticating)

Masticating juicers are the easiest of all to clean. Because it is a slow juicing process, it produces less pulp and therefore is quite easy to get rid of all excess materials after juicing.

With centrifugal juicers, the fast pace means more pulp and a wider area of pulp, which will also be wetter than masticated pulp, and that’s why masticating models are easiest.

  1. Tribest Green Star Elite GSE-5000

tribest green star elite gse 5000 reviewAll of the parts in this machine are dishwasher friendly (although we would always say that in order to get maximum longevity you should handwash). There are fewer little nooks and crannies than others and therefore the Tribest Green Star is the best masticating juicer to get if you’re looking for ease of maintenance.

As always, run it under some running water and you will see that it is good as gold in a matter of seconds. Perfecto! We can’t recommend the ease of this model more. Oh, and it juices pretty well also.

  1. Omega J8004/J8006

Omega J8004 Nutrition Center Commercial Masticating JuicerThis is also a very easy juicer to clean. It’s a total walk in the park. Now, this model (and the J8006 which is identical but in chrome) has more parts than other similar models on the market, but they are easy as pie to take apart and throw under some running water.

Rinsing will clean this machine 90% of the way, but dragging a sponge through it will make it sparkle. NICE. You don’t need any tools to put the juicer together or apart, and that makes it easy to clean consistently.

You get a brush to clean it with which is great, and as we mentioned in the review it has a great yield and will be the perfect juicer for your kitchen.

  1. Omega NC800 HDS 5th Gen

Omega NC800This is a slightly newer version of the J8004 model, but it actually isn’t as well produced as its older sibling. It still is a fantastic juicer, but not worth the price increase. That said, it has a wider chute/augur and the easy to disassemble parts are very easy to clean and get back looking and working as good as new.

The wider chute does take marginally longer to clean, but there are fewer parts overall. The disassembly process is basically the same as the J8006/4 and you’ll soon get the hang of it.

We timed ourselves cleaning the NC800 and it took us 110 seconds, so under 2 mins, which isn’t too shabby at all!

  1. Super Angel 5500 Twin Gear Juicer

This is probably the absolute best juicer you can buy for your home, and the price tag says it all. It is bloody expensive, but will provide you with a lifetime (yes, a lifetime) of juicing. You will only need to clean four parts, and three of which are just in need of a quick rinse. One of the parts is a bit more complex, but still a breeze.

All of the parts are stainless steel, and you get a pulp removal tool which is a nice touch. That said, because it is stainless steel, you should really clean it soon after use, because if it dries it will be an awful pain to remove.

Easy to Clean Centrifugal Juicers

As mentioned above, masticating juicers are traditionally easier to clean than centrifugal juicers, because centrifugal juicers work at a fast pace, traditionally have more parts, and will have a wetter, messier and larger pulp after the juicing process.

  1. Breville BJE200XL

breville bje200This is probably the easiest centrifugal juicer to clean. It has no separate pulp catcher, which means that it cannot yield as much as some of its competitors but it means that the clean up is made a hell of a lot easier.

You can simply remove the cover and then take out the main parts, which are the cutting disc and the pulp catcher. A quick scrub of the blades is all that you’ll need to clean them (watch your fingers! The blades are sharp, so use a brush of some sort). You will then have to scoop out the excess pulp from the pulp catcher and voila, it’s clean as a whistle.

2.

Breville JE98XL

Breville JE98XLThis is a step up from the BJE200XL in that it can deal with a higher yield and has a separate container for the pulp.

It’s similar to the BJE200XL in terms of parts, and ease of assembly. The parts are easily disassembled and can be ran under water to clean. It should take about 3 minutes overall to get from just after use to ready for next use, which isn’t too bad for a centrifugal juicer.

The pulp catching bin does save time but you will have a wet pulp to scoop out after each use. That’s just one of the things that comes with the territory when you buy a centrifugal juicer!

Conclusion

We hope that the list of both masticating and centrifugal juicers above give you an idea of the easiest juicer to clean available on the market right now. Aside from the ease to maintain, they are all very solid juicers in their own right and whether you have the budget for the masticating or the centrifugal model, you’ll be getting a good product for anything that needs to be juiced!
